A Message from Principal Mr. Stephen Toto

Located on the north shore of Long Island in Western Suffolk County, the Silas Wood Sixth Grade Center is part of the South Huntington Union Free School District, home to the District’s entire class of sixth-grade students. Our dedicated staff always puts forward their best efforts to ensure that each child reaches their academic goals in a safe, positive, and healthy environment. Our goal is to help students make the transition to middle school as smoothly as possible in a caring and nurturing learning environment where they are encouraged to make positive choices, treat others respectfully, and look beyond themselves in their daily decision making. Students are also encouraged to become positive members of their local community and to society as a whole.
